MF Plasterboard Ceiling System
MF (Metal Frame) Plasterboard Ceilings are a false suspended ceiling used for upgrading soffits within existing refurbishment or new build projects. MF Metal Frame Ceilings are manufactured by British Gypsum, Knauf, Lafarge, Richter, HEP, Hilltop, and Libra and consist of a metal framework which is used as a suspension system to which the plasterboard is fixed.
The MF Metal Framework Ceiling is made up of a number of components which are fixed together to form the suspension grid. This is made up from MF5 (Metal Furring Bars), MF7 Primary Support Channel, MF6A Perimeter Channel, 25 x 25mm Galvanised Angle Hangers and MF9 Connecting Clips. This is suspended from the existing soffit/floor above and by using varying lengths of galvanised angle for hangers allows the finished ceiling height to suit the amount of services to be hidden and the level at with the ceiling is required.
MF Plasterboard Ceilings are not pre-finished ceilings like Armstrong Suspended Ceilings. Thus they need to be given either a tape and jointed or skim coat Plaster finish prior to decoration. If you need access into the void of an MF Plasterboard Ceiling then an access panel can be installed in order to provide this access to the services located in the ceiling void.
All of the components required to install an MF Plasterboard Ceiling are available online from www.buildingmaterials.co.uk and are available for delivery throughout the United Kingdom. We offer a standard delivery timescale of 2-3 days nationwide for these type of products.
